Thursday, Sept. 8

Police were dispatched to a home on Leedom Way around 11:30 p.m. for a report of a domestic situation with a male subject armed with a knife.  When officers arrived, they located the female victim, who was safe and told police that her boyfriend, 32-year-old James Duffy, was upstairs and the knife was now in the kitchen.  She said earlier in the evening, she had told Duffy that she was ending the relationship.  Duffy left the residence at that point, but returned later and entered the home without the victim’s knowledge. He threatened her with a knife.  Duffy, who was intoxicated and uncooperative, was arrested and charged with simple assault, possession of an instrument of a crime, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person and harassment.
