Police: Naked Man on State Street Reported, Not Located

Township police also report thefts from unlocked vehicles and a vandalized mailbox.

The following is recent activity as reported by the Newtown Township Police Department:

Tuesday, July 5

At approximately 2:50 p.m., a resident of Bolton Court reported that at some point overnight his wallet was removed from his unlocked vehicle that was parked in his driveway.  The wallet contained credit cards and a small amount of cash.  The victim also reported that a second vehicle in the driveway had been rummaged through but nothing was missing.

A resident of Grant Street reported that someone stole golf clubs from his vehicle, which was parked in the driveway.  The report was received around 6 p.m. Another member of the household told the officer that around 1:30 a.m. that day, she was awakened by her car alarm going off.  She didn't think anything of it and clicked it off with the remote.  The next morning, she observed that her car door was slightly ajar, however nothing was taken.

Shortly before 3 a.m., police received a report that there was a naked male walking north on State Street. Police checked the area with negative contact and no additional reports were received.

At approximately 3:40 a.m., police were dispatched to a business located on Blacksmith Road after an employee noticed a male subject hanging around the back door.  When the employee opened the door, the subject ran towards Penns Trail. The subject was described as a young white male, wearing swim trunks with a shirt hanging over his shoulder. A Newtown Borough officer assisted the township police, but the subject was not located. 

A resident of Hidden Valley Drive reported that sometime overnight, her mailbox was spray painted with black paint. 

Just before 8 p.m. a resident of Bolton Court reported that his iPod was removed from his vehicle parked in his driveway.  The theft occurred between 9:30 a.m. on July 4 and 8:30 a.m. on July 5.  The iPod is valued at $300.
