Police Report Injured Bicyclist, Loose Horses

The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following activity.

 

Monday, May 14

While patrolling on the Newtown Bypass around 6:45 a.m., an officer observed a motorist make multiple improper lane changes. The motorist was stopped. At the stop, the officer determined that the vehicle was not properly registered.  The driver, 42-year-old Craig Cannon of Gablewing Circle in Newtown Township received citations charging him with careless driving and not having properly registering the vehicle.

At approximately 7:15 p.m., police were dispatched to the 400 block of Linton Hill Road for a report of loose horses in the area.  The responding officer located the owner of the animals on Washington Crossing Road and advised her to retrieve the horses.

Shortly after 1 p.m., a resident of Magnolia Drive came to Police Headquarters to report that she has received multiple disturbing texts from an unknown person.  She was advised to contact her provider to have the number blocked and to keep police informed if she receives any additional texts of this nature.  An officer attempted to call the number that the texts were sent from, but it is for texts only. 

A representative of the Newtown Sewer Authority advised police that on Tuesday, May 22 they will be testing sewer lines in the area of Lower Dolington Road.  There will be flagmen to direct traffic. 

Shortly after 11 p.m., police observed a motorist driving a vehicle with a suspended registration due to lack of insurance.  The motorist was stopped, the license plate was seized to be returned to PennDOT and the owner, 34-year-old Marcy Woolf of North Olds Blvd. in Fairless Hills will receive a citation charging her with the violation. 

Thursday, May 17

Just before 6:30 p.m., police were dispatched along with an ambulance to the area of Eagle and Durham Roads for a report of an accident with a bicyclist being struck by a vehicle.  Upon arrival, it was determined that the 16-year-old bicyclist was riding her bike across Durham Road at Eagle Road while on her way to her home on Cliveden Drive when she struck the curb and flipped over the handle bars.  She complained of head and shoulder pain so she was transported to Saint Mary Medical Center by ambulance.  Police contacted family members and learned that the teen’s mother was on her way to the hospital.

Friday, May 18

At approximately 10:45 a.m., a resident of Gaylord Court reported that she left her wallet and iPhone in a shopping cart in the parking lot of Genuardi’s, but did not discover it missing until after she left.  The victim’s cell phone was tracked to the Buckingham Green shopping center.  Police attempted to locate the phone, but the signal was lost before their efforts were successful.  The wallet contained the victim’s driver’s license, several credit cards and a small amount of cash.  The credit card accounts have been canceled along with the cell phone service.  

Sunday, May 20

Around 2:20 a.m. police responded to the area of Sentinel Avenue and Quaker Drive for a complaint that unknown actors were in the area knocking down mailboxes.  The responding officer found three severely damaged mailboxes with broken posts on Sentinel Avenue and one on Quaker Drive. Officers checked the area to locate any potential suspects, but were unsuccessful and the caller was not able to provide any description.  Two additional residents called police later that day to report that their mailboxes had also been damaged.
