Police: Two More Credit Card Fraud Cases Reported

Newtown Township Police reported the following recent incidents:

Monday, January 7

Shortly after 6 a.m., police responded to Aster Way for a report of a male subject sleeping in his vehicle.  When the officer made contact with the 21 year-old Levittown man provided his identification and said that he had an argument with his father and since he knew someone who lives on Aster Way, he notified her that he was going to sleep in the parking lot. The officer advised him to leave the area, which he did without further incident.  

Tuesday, January 8

A resident of Sycamore Street called police at approximately 12:50 p.m. to report that he was notified of fraudulent activity on his credit card.  He stated that the card company will investigate and correct the charges against the account.

Wednesday, January 9

Around 4 p.m., a resident of Wyckwood Court reported that her charge account had been compromised. The card was cancelled and the company took care of charges.  

At approximately 10:30 p.m., while conducting a traffic detail on the Newtown Bypass near Newtown Gate Drive, an officer observed a motorist traveling at a high rate of speed. He stopped the vehicle on Buck Road. At the stop the driver, a 65-year-old Northampton Township resident, was taken into custody. He was transported to Saint Mary Medical Center where blood was drawn for testing.  DUI charges will be filed after the blood results are received from the lab.
