Police Warn Newtown Grant Residents After Rash of Burglaries

Police are asking residents to be aware of a string of burglaries that have occurred over the past few months in Newtown Grant.

Newtown Township Police are asking residents, particularly those in Newtown Grant, to be aware of a string of burglaries that have occurred over the past few months in that neighborhood.

All of the burglaries have occurred during the daytime when the homeowners were out of the house, police said.

"We ask that you be mindful of your surroundings and keep your home and vehicles locked at all times. If you see something suspicious or out of place, please try to observe as much detail as you safely can and call 911 immediately," the announcement from police said.

Police said the following areas of the neighborhood were targeted by burglars in the past three months:

  • First block of Sequoia Drive (forced entry to a secluded rear door)
  • 800 building of Society Place (forced entry to a front door)
  • First block of Birch Court (entry via a secluded front door)
  • 1600 building of Society Place (entry via a secluded front door)
