Screaming Man, Stolen Wood Chipper Among Recent Police Activity

Recent activity as reported by Newtown Township Police Department.

The following recent incidents have been reported by Newtown Township Police Department:

Monday April 21

Shortly before 10 am police were dispatched to the Newtown Depot Shopping Center on Richboro Road for a report of an adult male outside screaming and yelling. Responding officers made contact with the 22 year-old Newtown resident who was singing loudly. No further police action was needed.

The owner of a business located in the 1000 block of Swamp Road in Wrightstown called police at approximately 11:05 am to report the theft of a wood chipper from the parking lot.  The business owner told police that the equipment is valued at $2,500.00 was taken at some point over the weekend.  

At approximately 1 pm, a resident came to police headquarters to report receiving a phone call earlier in the day from a male subject with a thick accent.  The caller represented himself as being from the IRS and told the resident that he owed back taxes and must pay them or he would be arrested.  The reporting officer assured the resident that the call was part of scam.
