A bear sighting was reported in Northampton Township near Richboro Elementary School.

A second bear sighting in Bucks County was reported Saturday in Northampton Township near Richboro Elementary School.

According to Northampton Township police, the bear was spotted around midnight on Birch Avenue. A homeowner told police she saw the bear twice by his trash cans.

“Officers responding to the call observed trash scattered throughout the back yard and large indentations in the grass," Northampton Township police said.

This is the second reported bear sighting in Bucks County in the past two days.  The first was reported Friday morning in Newtown Township near Saint Andrew Elementary School on Wrights Road.

Police remind residents not to approach a bear and to report any sightings to police via 911.  Additionally, residents should not leave trash unsecured.

Ok, the other bear was also near an elementary school. Did anyone see Good Will Hunting? It's pretty clear to me that this is the same bear and that he or she just wants to finish elementary school. Can someone please think of the this bear and it's educational needs?

Takes some of the attention from the burgeoning wild turkey population in the state. In the late '60s through the '70s and '80s it was difficult enough to find wild turkeys (not the State Store variety) where they were SUPPOSED to be. Now one practically has to shoo turkeys from one's path in some areas. Cross a wild turkey and you'll see a flying spur that isn't a Bentley.
