The following incidents were reported by Newtown Township Police:
Friday, May 2
While patrolling Durham Road in Wrightstown around 5:30 p.m., an officer observed a vehicle being operated without a proper registration. The vehicle was stopped and the officer discovered that the driver didn’t have a valid driver’s license. The car was impounded and towed from the scene and will be released when the owner, who was not the driver, provides proper registration, insurance documentation. The driver, 28 year-old Antonio Lopez of Trenton received a citation charging him with driving without a license.
Sunday, May 4
At approximately 11:20 p.m., police stopped a motorist in the area of Richboro Road and Walnut Avenue due to an expired registration on the car. When the officer made contact with the driver he smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside of the vehicle. A brief investigation revealed that the driver, 19-year-old Joshua Leffew of Tulip Drive, and two passengers, 20-year-old Paul Ciccotto of Snapdragon Drive and 19-year-old Zachary Paul of Mulberry Court, all residents of Newtown, were in possession of small amounts of marijuana and related paraphernalia. The contraband was confiscated and placed in evidence at the Newtown Township Police Headquarters. The subjects each received citations charging them with disorderly conduct. Leffew also received three traffic citations charging him with inspection, emissions and registration violations.
