Township Police: 'All Is Well' After Earthquake

Newtown Township Police officials say there was no damage in the township from earthquake tremors felt throughout Bucks County.

No one was hurt and there was no damage in Newtown Township after a minor earthquake was felt throughout the region, police said.

"All is well in Newtown Township," Newtown Township Police Department spokeswoman Jean Tanner said. "We did get a few calls, but nothing other than people wanting to confirm what they were being told."

Tremors lasting roughly 10 seconds were reportedly felt throughout our region and the Northeast portion of the country after an earthquake struck in Virginia.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported the epicenter of a 5.9 magnitude earthquake took place four miles from Louisa, Virginia at 1:51:03 p.m. Tuesday.

Louisa, Va. is located more than 250 miles from Bucks and Montgomery Counties.
