Township Police Report DUI, Smashed Mailbox

And a resident called to complain that juveniles were loitering on Aster Way.

Newtown Township Police Department reported the following recent activity:

Thursday, Nov. 15

At approximately 10 p.m., a resident of Lower Dolington Road reported that she had left her residence at 7 p.m. and when she arrived home, her mailbox had been smashed and her garbage can was now alongside the road with garbage everywhere. The area was checked but no additional damage was found.

Friday, Nov. 16

At approximately 8:30 p.m., police received an anonymous complaint that a group of juveniles were loitering on Aster Way.  The responding officer met with three males, all adults who lived in the area, who were standing at the street talking. The men told the officer that they were on their way home and continued on their way without incident.

Shortly before 11 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of the Newtown Bypass and Richboro Road for a two-vehicle traffic accident. Initial investigation led to the arrest of one of the drivers, a 45 year-old Newtown Township man who was suspected of driving under the influence. The man was taken into custody and transported to Saint Mary Medical Center to have blood drawn for testing.  Charges of DUI are pending the results of the blood work.
