Township Police Report Noise Complaints, Theft from Car

Recent activity as reported by the Newtown Township Police Department.

 

Tuesday, May 29

At approximately 8:45 a.m., police received a report of an occupied vehicle parked on Andrew Drive near the Goodnoe Elementary School.  The caller reported that the vehicle had been there since 7:30 a.m. with one male occupant in it.  The responding officer made contact with the man and learned that the Council Rock School District had hired Traffic Planning and Design, Inc. to do a traffic study in preparation for expansion to the elementary school.  The personnel of the school are aware of the activities.

A resident of the 1000 block of Park Avenue in Wrightstown Township called police to report that sometime between May 24 after 7 p.m. and Saturday morning, someone had entered his unlocked vehicle, taking his wallet, which contained $320 cash along with his driver’s license and three credit cards. Additionally, a Tom-Tom GPS unit valued at $425 was also taken from the car.  The victim cancelled his credit card accounts and was told there had been no fraudulent activity on the accounts.

Around 2:15 p.m., police received a complaint about the noise associated with the Summer Fest on Sycamore Street.  The event organizers were notified and no additional complaints were received. 

Shortly after 11 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of Chickory Place for a report of loud music being played.  The responding officer located the source of the music and spoke with the homeowner, who agreed to reduce the noise.
