Township Police Respond to Fireworks, Suspicious Vehicles

The Newtown Township Police Department Reported the following activity:

Tuesday, Feb. 14

Police were dispatched to Diamond Drive around 6:30 p.m. for a report of two suspicious vehicles in the area.  Responding officers made contact with the occupant of one of the vehicles, who explained that he ran out of gas and a friend that lives in the neighborhood provided him with fuel for his vehicle.  No further police action was required. 

Wednesday, Feb. 15

A resident of Willow Court reported that he had received two suspicious phone calls from an unidentified male.  The caller told the resident that a family member was in trouble and needed bail money.  The recipient of the call realized that the call was a scam and notified police.  

Thursday, Feb. 16

At approximately 9:40 p.m., police dispersed approximately 20 juveniles from a parking lot on Cambridge Lane.  The teens left without incident. 

Saturday, Feb. 18

Around 1:30 pm an officer was dispatched to Parsons Lane in Wrightstown Township to investigate a report of a suspicious vehicle that was parked on the street for three days.  At approximately 6:30 p.m., a resident of the street called police to say the vehicle belonged to a guest of theirs and would be moved late Monday afternoon. 

Sunday, Feb. 19

While an officer was clearing from a call at a residence on Copperleaf Drive, she observed fireworks being set off in the middle of the street.  The officer made contact with the two adults who were supervising a group of juveniles and advised them that fireworks are illegal as well a fire hazard.  The group was told to cease their actions and to clean up any debris.

Monday, Feb. 20

Shortly before 7:30 p.m., police were dispatched to Windy Bush Road for a complaint of a male subject trying to sell meat to residents.  Police checked the area but the subject was not located.
