Trio Scams Bed, Bath & Beyond With Store Credit Hoax, Police Say

Three people stole $160 worth of merchandise Wednesday from Bed, Bath & Beyond, according to police.

A group of three people scammed Bed Bath & Beyond out of $160 worth of merchandise Wednesday, according to information from Newtown Township Police.

Police are investigating the incident, which happened around 4 p.m.

According to police, the store manager told officers that a woman and two men came into the store together. The women went to the customer service desk to return an item; the men walked around the store picking up merchandise and bringing it to the woman. 

The manager told police that the sales associated issued a store credit for an amount close to $300 with approximately $160 of that from merchandise taken from the shelves.

The officer viewed security video from the store. The female suspect provided her driver’s license when making the return, according to police.
