"It was through his initiative that we have both Facebook and Twitter accounts, which he updates daily, even on his days off," according to chief Rick Pasqualini. "I am confident Sergeant Lupinetti will continue to serve our community well in his new capacity."

Pirog, a father of three, was an officer in New Hope Borough before joining Newtown Township in 2000. He's a member of Bucks County's Major Incident Response Team and serves as a motorcycle officer.

Most recently, he was a D.A.R.E. instructor.

"He had a strong and positive impact on the students in the elementary schools. As Corporal Pirog makes this next transition in his career, I am sure that he will meet the challenges with determination," Pasqualini said.
