The Bucks County SPCA is looking for clues into who abandoned a domestic rabbit in Lower Makefield.
According to Nikki Thompson, Director of Education and Outreach for the local SPCA, the incident happened Tuesday around 6:45 a.m. at Knightsbridge Road and Harrow Crescent in Lower Makefield.
A woman in her 30s with dark hair let the rabbit go from her car, according to eyewitnesses. Thompson said the eyewitnesses, including a school bus driver and a bus of high school students, said the woman was driving a four-door white sedan.
“The rabbit was recovered by a resident of the neighborhood a few hours later, and has since been adopted by a nice family,” Thompson said. “We are looking for more information about the person who left this rabbit without concern for its well-being or safety. Domestic rabbits cannot survive very long in the wild."
