Beer Distributor Proposed In Wrightstown

A beer distributor is being proposed for the property in between Durham Road and Second Street Pike, just north of CVS. There is currently no beer distributor in Wrightstown.

Wrightstown residents may soon have a shorter drive to pick up a case of beer.

A beer distributor has been proposed for the property that straddles Durham Road (Route 413) and Second Street Pike (Route 232). The proposed project would demolish the white, run-down residence on the corner and expand the building that formerly housed Anchor Automotive. The property is just north of CVS at the five-point intersection.

Applicant Pat Deon is seeking to put a 3,600-square foot addition onto the current garage-like structure. The plan calls for a loading area for beer trucks to be added onto the existing building, which is just over 4,800 square feet.

Representatives for the applicant, including engineer Heath Dumack of Dumack Engineering, were present at a Wrightstown Township Board of Supervisors meeting in September. Dumack explained the applicant would be seeking zoning relief from the township to accommodate the project on the triangular-shaped lot.

There is currently no beer distributor in Wrightstown. The closest locations currently are in and Richboro.

Wrightstown Township supervisor Jane Magne said a beer distributor is an allowed use for that area but the constraints of the property make it difficult to design. The applicant is currently working to improve elevation and layout sketches as well as a facade design, she added.
