Borough Council Releases Tuesday's Agenda

The Newtown Borough Council holds its regular monthly meeting 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Chancellor Center.

The agenda begins with a police report for February. From there, Council President Julia Woldorf will give her report. Public comment will follow.

The Council will then consider a Certificates of Appropriateness for MedEstics on 16 S. State Street as recommended by the Historical Agriculture Review Board. The applicant is seeking a Certificate of Appropriateness to put up a hanging sign within the display window for MedEstics.

There will be a consolidated Budget and Finance Committee report as well as a report from the Planning Commission and the Recreation Board.

The solicitor’s report will address a noise ordinance, a sidewalk ordinance, and a parking permit ordinance.

The solicitor’s report also includes the consideration of an amendment to the Police Collective Bargaining Agreement, eliminating the municipal Killed in Service benefit in accordance with Act 51 of 2009.

As part of “new business” the Council will discuss distribution of the updated Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance (SALDO) and zoning ordinances.
