Borough Council To Meet Tonight at Sewer Authority

The meeting will be held at the Sewer Authority building, 15 S Congress St, instead of the usual location at the Chancellor Center.

The Newtown Borough Council will meet tonight at the Water and Sewer Authority Building, 15 South Congress St., instead of its usual location at the Chancellor Center. Work is being done to the floors at the Chancellor Center, so the meeting had to be moved elsewhere for the month of July only.

Council’s agenda includes an update on the Penn Street sinkhole, which was discovered last month. The sinkhole was caused by a borough storm sewer line and will be the municipality’s responsibility to repair.

Council President Julia Woldorf will give an update on the . Woldorf is expected to ask Council to authorize making the Request for Proposal for website redesign available to the public.

Council will also vote on adopting a noise ordinance. The new noise ordinance would shift enforcement from the code enforcement officer to the police department.
