Borough Council to Meet Tonight

The Newtown Borough Council will hold its regular monthly meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at the Chancellor Center.

COA 2012-029-H  Applicant:  Slimben Ouhiba, Tiramisu, Inc., 31 S. State Street, Trattoria Tiramisu

The applicant is seeking a Certificate of Appropriateness for the installation of a hanging sign on the existing bracket.

HARB recommended approval of the application as presented, noting that the sign would be hung from existing hooks and the chains would be painted black.

COA 2012-030-H Applicant:  Daniel Lucci, 16 S. State Street, Café con Leche

The applicant is seeking a Certificate of Appropriateness for the installation of a wall sign.

HARB recommended approval of the application as presented, noting that the sign would be mounted approximately 4” off of the building façade with 3-4 metal stand offs/small rods to match the trim color.

Reappoint Amy Moore to the Recreation Board for a 5-year term through December 31, 2017. 

Reappoint Charles F. Swartz, III to the Zoning Hearing Board for a 3-year term through December 31, 2015.  

  • Solicitor’s Report – William J. Bolla

Authorize the Solicitor to advertise an amendment to the ordinance related to maintenance of properties with regard to cutting of grass, weeds or other vegetation and providing for remedial action by the Borough in specified situations.
