Borough Council To Meet With Local Business Owners

Council wants to learn how local businesses are doing and what it can do to help them in this sluggish economy.

Newtown Borough Council wants to hear from local business owners -- and they’re hoping to dedicate an entire meeting to that conversation

During Wednesday’s Borough Council work session, Council member Mike Sellers said he’d like to extend an invitation to local business owners to talk about how they’re doing and what Council can do to help them thrive in this sluggish economy.

“I think it’s an obligation on our part to dedicate time to sit down and talk to them,” Sellers said.  “I’m asking Council to dedicate most of a work session and invite business owners to that meeting.”

The regular meeting will return to the Chancellor Center for August, however, the building is getting its floors redone so it is unavailable for the July regular meeting.
