Borough Seeking Proposals for New Website

The Newtown Borough Council on Tuesday voted to put out a request for proposals for work to the site.

The Newtown Borough Council on Tuesday agreed to put out a formal request for proposals for a new website.

The borough is looking to bring its site up to date, as well as implement a content management system that would enable multiple officials and committee members to update pertinent information without using code.

However, the borough’s ideal website may be out of the budget at this time.

“The $1,000 that was set aside is going to be insufficient,” Council President Julia Woldorf said, adding that some municipalities pay as much as $10,000 to $20,000 for “elaborate” sites.

The borough decided to specify a range in the request for proposals, saying it is interested in entertaining proposals between $2,000 to $5,000.
