Borough, Township Declare Snow Emergency

Cars cannot be parked on public streets so plows can safely remove the snow from the streets.

Newtown Borough and Newtown Township have both declared snow emergencies due to Tuesday's snow.

The Township announced on its website that a 24-hour snow emergency would take effect at noon on Tuesday. That means cars cannot be parked on public streets so plows can safely remove the snow from the streets.

Newtown Borough also declared a snow emergency. Cars must also be removed from borough streets to make way for plows.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning through 6 a.m. Wednesday. As much as a foot of snow could fall, according to forecasters.
