Bucks County is preparing to be in the political limelight just two days before the presidential election.
Mitt Romney announced Thursday that he will hold a rally at Shady Brook Farm in Lower Makefield Township. It’s the latest indication that Romney believes he has a shot to win Pennsylvania’s 20 electoral votes on Nov. 6.
Shady Brook Farm General Manager Dave Fleming said the whole thing happened “very quickly.” He said the Romney campaign approached him two days ago inquiring if the farm would be available for a rally. Fleming agreed and Shady Brook was added to a list of six locations being considered for the Philadelphia-area rally.
Fleming said he first found out Shady Brook Farm was selected as the preferred location through published media reports Thursday night, including this one on Patch.
“I think it’s very exciting,” Fleming said. “It’s amazing that Pennsylvania is in the spotlight this late in the election.”
The rally will start at 5:30 p.m. in the field where the annual carnival is held. The field borders the Newtown Bypass and Stony Hill Road. Fleming said the Romney campaign expects between 10,000 and 15,000 attendees at the rally. Click here to reserve tickets.
The Romney campaign is paying to rent the space, Fleming confirmed, adding the rally is not intended to be a political endorsement. He said Shady Brook as a business is remaining politically neutral in the race.
In fact, the Obama campaign approached Shady Brook two weeks ago inquiring about using the farm as a rally location, Fleming said. But nothing came of that inquiry.
“From our standpoint, it’s all or nothing. Everyone is welcome or no one is welcome,” he said, adding the farm has hosted events for candidates of both political affiliations. “I think it’s important to offer all sides an opportunity to get their viewpoint out."
Secret Service agents and campaign event organizers have been at the farm since Thursday morning scoping out the location, Fleming said. He added the farm store will be closed to the public at some point Sunday but exact hours of business for that day have not yet been determined.
Shady Brook Farm is at located 931 Stony Hill Road, Yardley. (Use Morrisville in your GPS.)
I would respectfully ask what the local residents posting to this board see how a Romney Administration would help them - presuming they are earning less than $250,000 per year. If you are earning more than that, I already understand - you want to keep your money. But the rest of you...? How do people develop an opinion agains their own self interest?

And by the way, all of my family in NY and NJ are in very bad shape. FEMA has done a horrific job. The rest of your list is a bunch of lies Here's another stat for you. There were 8.2 million job losses and 5.7 million new jobs over the past 4 years...look it up. That's a loss of 2.5 million net.
First, the unemployment rate ticked up to 7.9% and the year-to-date monthly average of 157,000 payroll jobs is barely enough to keep up with population growth -- much less make up for the 8 million jobs lost during the Great Recession. Second, the so-called real unemployment rate (U6) remains elevated at 14.6%, albeit down from 14.7% the prior month. Similarly, the labor participation rate is at 63.8%, up from its multi-decade low but still incredibly weak. Third, average hourly earnings fell a penny in October and average hours worked fell to 34.4 from 34.5 in September. Stagnant wages means "we're not generating income," Reinhart says. "That's a problem in terms of the durability of an economic expansion, which is usually fueled by consumption. To get consumption you've got to generate income." Also, just look at your checkbook. We are paying a lot more for everything now than we did in 2008. The price of gas has doubled. At the same time, wages have gone down, and that's if you're lucky to have a job. In 2008, 25 banks went out of business. In 2012, 48 banks have gone out of business. Almost double the amount. Does that sound like recovery to you? Don't believe the Obama lies!! Romney/Ryan 2012
Lets not forget those four who were left to be slaughtered in Benghazi... Every voter needs to read this excellent article... Very well worth your time... http://spectator.org/archives/2012/11/01/benghazi-obamas-core-deceit/ These are pretty good as well: http://www.gazette.com/opinion/romney-146793-obama-benghazi.html http://frontpagemag.com/2012/dgreenfield/benghazigate-obamas-many-lies-about-libya/ http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/50657 http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Journalism/2012/10/25/CBS-Busts-Obama--and-Itself-Hidden-60-Minutes-Clip-Proves-White-House-Lied-About-Benghazi Romney/Ryan 2012
How can that be? If Bush was, that makes Obama a debt criminal!!! http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2011/08/24/flashback_obama_adding_4_trillion_to_debt_is_unpatriotic.html Hmmmmm........didn't the debt grow under Obama? I guess he told us the truth though. LOL!
You just showed how twisted and stupid your POV is.
GARY JOHNSON 2012 Bring our troops home, we are not the world's police force. Restructure the tax system to eliminate the IRS and decrease our deficit by fair taxation. Choice is a personal choice, not someone else's, period. Reduce the deficit by ending the fabricated war on drugs. Original Republican ideals, not Tea Party double talk.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/ma/massachusetts_romney_vs_obama-1804.html The average of all polls, whether you believe some to be conservative or liberal leaning, still gives Obama a 20+ point lead. So my question is, why aren't more people paying attention to this? You can't shrug it off that it is MA and they always lean this way, because they voted Romney himself in as a Republican. The reality is that Romney can't even get close in this election in the only state that he has governed before, where the people actually know what you get if you vote for Romney. If he was the success that he pretends to be in MA, don't you think that he would be leading in MA or at the very least, have a close race going on there?
