Centre Ave Bridge Walkway 'Seriously' Deteriorated: Reports

According to an article in the Newtown Advance, the pedestrian walkway on the Centre Avenue Bridge is seriously deteriorated.

The pedestrian walkway on the Centre Avenue Bridge is in poor condition and has seriously deteriorated, according to an article by the Newtown Advance.

The Advance reported today that the pedestrian bridge was recently inspected by a company hired by Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. The company told Borough Engineer Mario Canales the bridge showed signs of corrosion, the Advance reported.

However, according to the article, PennDOT is refusing to take responsibility for the pedestrian portion of the bridge, saying it's owned by the borough.

The borough has contacted PennDOT to request an inspection to determine if there are immeadiate dangers to pedestrians using the walkway, according to the article.
