Construction of Noah's Playground to Begin This Summer

Noah's Playground, named in honor of a local baby who passed away from SIDS, will be located at Veteran's Park next to the concession building.

Construction of a new playground at Veteran’s Park will begin by late summer, Newtown Township Parks and Recreation Board Chairman Andy Levine said.

The new playground will be called Noah’s Playground in honor of a baby from Newtown Township who was eight weeks old when he passed away in 2010 from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

Noah Cohen’s parents, Natalie and Jason Cohen, have raised $53,000 to put towards the $200,000 playground. The Cohens established The Noah Jacob Cohen Memorial Fund through The Philadelphia Foundation. Click here to read more about the fund and how money was raised.

Newtown Township worked with the Cohen family to design the playground, which will be located next to the concession building.

The playground will be inclusive and aims to bring together kids of all abilities, Levine said. “It will emphasize physical activity and is designed to complement the active nature of the park in general.”
