De Lorzeno’s Tomato Pies will be before the Newtown Township Board of Supervisors Wednesday seeking approval for a Newtown location.

De Lorenzo’s has purchased a property on Newtown-Yardley Road, where the former veterinary hospital was located, with the hopes of serving its famous tomato pies in Bucks County. The property is located at 671 Newtown Yardley Rd.

According to the township agenda, De Lorenzo's Tomato Pies of Newtown LLC (Samuel A. Amico) is seeking variances in connection to the proposed construction of a one-story, 4,500 square foot restaurant with 75 off-street parking spaces.

De Lorenzo's representatives are coming before the township planning commission Tuesday to discuss their plans, according to that agenda.

Also on Wednesday's supervisors agenda is consideration of enacting a 2014 budget. Click here to view the full agenda. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m.

De Lorenzo’s tomato pies are famous throughout the region. The pizzeria, which first opened in Trenton in 1947, last year closed its restaurant in the city’s Chambersburg section. It currently operates a restaurant in Robbinsville, N.J.
