Lower Makefield Marine Seeking Republican Nomination for State Rep.

David Gibbon, a 2007 Pennsbury High School graduate, recently announced his intention to run for state representative of the 31st District.

A Lower Makefield Marine is seeking the Republican nomination to challenge Steve Santarsiero for a seat representing the state’s 31st District, which includes Newtown borough and township. 

David Gibbon, a 2007 Pennsbury High School graduate and member of the United States Marine Corps, recently announced his intention to run for state representative. 

The 2014 Primary election is May 20. The 2014 General Election is Nov. 4.

Gibbon, who is a Corporal in the Marine Corps Reserve, earned an Associates Degree from Bucks County Community College in 2012. He will graduate from Temple University in May. 

Santarsiero has served as Newtown’s state representative since 2008. In the 2008 election, he defeated Republican challenger Pete Stainthorpe.

In 2010, he narrowly defeated Republican Rob Ciervo, a Newtown Township resident. And in 2010, Santarsiero defeated Republican Anne Chapman, a Lower Makefield Township resident.
