Supervisors Approve Plans for Assisted Living Complex

The Newtown Township Board of Supervisors on Thursday unanimously approved final plans for the project, which will be located at Durham and Eagle roads.

A string of abandoned houses at Durham and Eagle roads will soon become a two-story, 120-bed assisted living complex.

The Newtown Township Board of Supervisors on Thursday unanimously approved final plans for the project, called The Birches. According to lawyer Ed Murphy, the applicant plans to break ground on the project by late summer.

The 87,000-square-foot assisted living complex will be constructed on seven tax parcels, which altogether is about 8.6 acres.
