Is the end of an eyesore in sight?

McGrath Homes, which has plans to redevelop the old Acme building on Sycamore Street, will come before the Newtown Township Board of Supervisors later this month to discuss the project. The property, to be called "The Promenade," has been sitting vacant for years, causing frustration among residents and business owners.

Officials, including Township Manager Joe Czajkowski and Board of Supervisors Chairman Rob Ciervo, said they have not yet seen the revised plans.

Plans previously approved by the township for The Promenade include a mixed-use development with both retail and residential units.

McGrath will be present to discuss its plans for the future of the site at the Supervisors' work session on Aug. 15 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the township .
