Calabro, Gallagher Win Board of Supervisors Race

Republican Ryan Gallagher and Democratic incumbent Phil Calabro both secured spots on Newtown Township's Board of Supervisors.

Republican Ryan Gallagher and Democrat Democrat Phil Calabro have claimed spots on Newtown Township's Board of Supervisors, according to results posted on the Bucks County website.

As of 11:30 p.m. on Election Day, Gallagher and Calabro had not been officially called and told they won, but Gallagher said in a brief phone interview that he had no reason to believe that the results on the website would differ from the official results.

Gallagher won support of 1,770 voters (roughly 26 percent), while incumbent Calabro received 1,717 votes (about 25 percent).

Gallagher said that he is happy with the "unofficially official results."

"I'm really happy and I feel like the voters in Newtown have put their support behind me, and quite honestly I hope that I can return the favor and be the supervisor and person that they voted for," he said.

Republican Margaret Chleboski trailed with 1,698 votes, while Mark Joseph had 1,578 votes.

The other candidates were not available for comment.

Congratulations Phil and Ryan! Phil - You stood up for me and all the other Newtown residents who were on the outside looking in. I'll stand up for you any day, anywhere, no matter what the cost. Proud to be your supporter.

I want to thank everyone for their support throughout the entirety of my campaign. It was wonderful seeing so many of you turn out to support me at the polls yesterday. In the end, Ryan Gallagher and Phil Calabro were voted into the two seats. Regardless of the outcome, I am so incredibly humbled by this experience, and extremely grateful that I was able to meet so many wonderful people throughout this process. I truly want to thank you all for your avid support and kind words of encouragement!
