Newtown Township is seeking volunteers for a newly-formed committee that will focus on economic development.

The township is now accepting applications for the seven-member Economic Development Committee.

The committee will focus on attracting businesses as well as examining development and redevelopment opportunities, according to an announcement from the township.

The committee will explore opportunities that will increase economic development in the township.

“Members will be expected to dedicate a reasonable amount of time on the Committee's projects outside of the regularly scheduled meetings,” the announcement said.

Residents with a background in real estate, development, finance or economic development are encouraged to apply. The deadline to apply is Dec. 31.
