Township to Unveil Proposed Budget Tuesday

Newtown Township will unveil a draft of the 2014 budget during a presentation Tuesday.

The budget presentation meeting gets underway at 7:45 p.m. at the township Municipal Building, 100 Municipal Dr. A brief Planning Commission meeting is scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. before the budget presentation meeting.

Newtown Township’s budget was $11 million in 2013. Taxes did not go up last year. Millage remained at 2.5, or $94 for a resident with a property assessed at the township average of $37,459.  

However, in 2013 a cell tower easement was sold for $550,000 to help balance the budget.
