Washington Crossing Dunkin Donuts to be Discussed Tuesday

The Upper Makefield Board of Supervisors is expected to get details about a proposal for a Dunkin Donuts in Washington Crossing Tuesday.

An applicant seeking to put a Dunkin Donuts in Washington Crossing will do a presentation in front of the Upper Makefield Board of Supervisors Tuesday.

According to Upper Makefield Assistant Township Manager Judy Caporiccio, the applicant is scheduled to make a presentation in front of the board regarding a request for variances for a convenience store and Dunkin’ Donuts at 1240 General Washington Memorial Blvd (Route 532).

The Zoning Hearing Board was scheduled to review the application seeking variances for the project earlier this month. However, that hearing was postponed after the Upper Makefield Board of Supervisors requested specifics.

During a meeting in June, the supervisors agreed more specifics are needed about the plan before a decision on the variances could be made. The supervisors’ action on the matter came after more than 400 residents signed a petition opposing the Dunkin’ Donuts at the property.

The group created an online petition, a paper petition and a Facebook page to spread the word of their effort.
