Newtown Artesian Water Company has withdrawn its application to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) for a well behind Tanner's Lawn and Snow on Washington Crossing Road, Newtown Township Board of Supervisors Chair Mike Gallagher said.
The local water company had an application in to the PUC seeking permission to bypass the township's zoning for the contstruction of the well, Gallagher explained.
The Newtown Artesian Water Company was seeking to build a well, well house and associated improvements on the site. Two public hearings on the issue were held in December.
A request for comment from Newtown Artesian Water Company was not immediately returned.
