Wolf Wins Democratic Nomination for Governor

According to unofficial results, Wolf won more votes than challengers U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz and state Treasurer Rob McCord.

Tom Wolf has prevailed in the Democratic primary for governor and will face Tom Corbett in the fall. Corbett was unopposed in the Republican primary. 

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Wolf, a businessman from York County, has secured the Democratic nomination. According to unofficial results, Wolf won more votes than challengers U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz and state Treasurer Rob McCord.

Wolf, 65, served as Pennsylvania Secretary of Revenue under the Rendell Administration.

He attended Dartmouth College and went on to earn a PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He served in the Peace Corps and later went on to operate his family-owned business, the Wolf Organization. 

Corbett's campaign issued a statement within minutes of Wolf's win. “While Tom Corbett is bringing commonsense solutions to Pennsylvania, Tom Wolf wants to push more Pennsylvanians into Obamacare and pull us backward to the days of overtaxing and reckless spending," the Corbett campaign said in a statement.
