BCCC to Commemorate 10th Anniversary of Sept. 11 Attacks

BCCC will hold a moment of silence and wreath dedication Friday at the Newtown Campus. The Student Programming Board is also selling t-shirts to benefit the Garden of Reflection.

Bucks County Community College will hold a wreath dedication and moment of silence on Friday in memory of the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

The wreath dedication and moment of silence will be held at 11 a.m. at the Tears for Freedom Fountain, next to the Gateway Center at the Newtown Campus.

“We will honor the civilians, military and emergency personnel who lost their lives or were injured on that tragic day,” organizers explained.

In addition, the Bucks County Community College Student Programming Board is conducting a community service project to mark the 10th anniversary.

The board has created a limited edition t-shirt and will be selling the shirts to raise money to support the Garden of Reflection Memorial in Lower Makefield. Organizers said they hope those who purchase the t-shirts will wear them during the moment of silence and wreath dedication.

Each shirt is $10 (cash or check) and can be purchased at the Student Life Programs Window, Room 112.  Checks can made out to “Bucks County Community College.” For more information, call 215-968-8257.
