Board To Consider Superintendent Contract Through 2017

If approved, Superintendent Mark Klein will serve the Council Rock School District through June 2017 at a rate of $196,000 per year.

 

The Council Rock School Board will consider extending Superintendent Mark Klein’s contract through June 2017 at tonight’s meeting.

The contract in front of the board will compensate Klein $196,000 per year for his role as superintendent. Klein’s salary will be revisited at the mid-point of the contract in 2015, “or sooner at the discretion of the board," the contract states.

If Klein decides to leave the district, the contract states he must give the board 150 days notice. Click here to view the contract that will be in front of the board.

According to an article published in August by the Bucks County Courier Times, Klein is the second-highest paid superintendent in Bucks County. In 2011, he was paid $189,095. Robert Laws, the superintendent of Central Bucks School District, is the highest paid superintendent in Bucks County. Laws makes $250,106 a year, according to the article.
