Churchville Elementary Stage Fit Out Approved

The Council Rock School Board on Thursday approved a bid for $118,600 to fit out the school's stage.

 

The stage at will be getting a facelift just in time for the spring concert.

The Council Rock School Board on Thursday approved a bid for $118,600 to fit out the school’s stage. The school’s PTO has agreed to donate $18,500 towards the sound system, bringing the total cost to the district down to $100,100. The work will be done by Zeo Brothers.

The fit out project includes new lighting, sound, projection and curtains, district officials said.

Board member Paul Anagnostakos voted for the project but was skeptical. “To me it does seem like a lot of money. I will vote yes because it does need to be done,” he said.

Superintendent Mark Klein said the work that will be done is simply bringing Churchville up to the same standard as other elementary school stages. 

“When you look at the stage at Churchville now, you look at a big hole,” Klein said, adding the stage currently doesn’t even have curtains. “The bottom line is most of this work just is a normal part of what you should see when you go into an auditorium.”
