Council Rock Holding Public Forum on $214M Draft Budget

Officials are expected to present a $214 million draft budget during a public forum Wednesday at the Chancellor Center.

Administrators from the Council Rock School District will hold a public forum on the 2014-2015 budget this Wednesday.

The public forum gets underway at 6:30 p.m. at the Chancellor Center.

Officials are expected to present a $214 million draft budget that, if passed as is, would increase taxes by about $40 for the average district resident, according to figures reported by the Newtown Advance.

The publication reported the draft budget includes an approximately one percent tax increase, which falls under the 2.1 percent cap as mandated by state law.

A final budget is expected to be adopted by the school board at its June 5 meeting.
