Council Rock to Host School Security Forums
There will be three forums; one is set for Jan. 30 at Newtown Middle School.
Council Rock School District will host three forums on school safety.
The series of community forums starts Monday, Jan. 14 at Hillcrest Elementary. On Tuesday, Jan. 22, there will be a forum at Maureen M. Welch Elementary School.
On Wednesday, Jan. 30, the final forum will be held at Newtown Middle School. All three forums begin at 7 p.m.

The forums are an opportunity for parents to discuss the issue of school security, according to information from the district.
The issue of school security has become a focus since last month's mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT.

"The forums will allow for suggestions that may apply to both individual schools and/or district security practices. While input and suggestions will be welcome, a final plan will await both the conclusion of these three meetings and a public discussion with the Board of School Directors in February," an email from the district said.
