Council Rock Reaches Contract Agreement With Administrators

The Board of School Directors will consider approval of the final contact for the Council Rock Administrator's Association during a meeting Thursday.

The Council Rock School District has reached a tentative three-year contract agreement with its Administrator’s Association, Superintendent Mark Klein announced today.

According to information from Klein, the proposed agreement calls for all members of the Administrator's Association to freeze their salaries at 2012-13 compensation levels in the first year of the new agreement. During the second and third year (2014-15 and 2015-16), Administration Association members will receive a 1.25 percent increase, Klein said.

The Board of School Directors will consider approval of the final contract during a meeting Thursday, which begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Chancellor Center.

The Council Rock Administrator's Association represents 43 employees, including principals, supervisors, assistant principals, directors and managers.

Superintendent Mark Klein, Director of Business Affairs Robert Reinhart and Director of Human Resources Christine Trioli each have separate employment agreements as dictated by the Pennsylvania School Code.

Under the tentative agreement, an administrator who has not reached the top of his or her salary range will also receive an additional 0.75 percent increase in those two years making their total raise 2 percent.  Over the three years of this agreement, the additional salary costs to Council Rock will total just over $179,000, according to information provided by Klein.

Members of CRAA have also agreed to increase their premium share for their health insurance, paying the same portion of their health care expenses as teaching staff governed by the agreement with the Council Rock Education Association.

Under the new agreement, Council Rock Administration Association members will contribute 14 percent of health care premiums in 2013-14 and 16 percent of health care premiums in 2014-15, Klein said.

“Council Rock has one of the smallest administrative teams compared to school districts of similar size in Bucks and Montgomery Counties,” Klein said. “The important work of leading our schools and our district operations, therefore, falls heavily on this team of administrators.

"I sincerely appreciate the cooperation of our administrative team in reaching this agreement and I continue to thank each for their selfless dedication to Council Rock and our students," he said.

If approved, the agreement will be effective July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2016.

According to Klein, the Administrator's Association made salary concessions in three of the last four years of its current contract in order to help the school district during difficult financial times.

Contract discussions began in February.
