Council Rock School Board to Discuss Budget Thursday

The Council Rock School Board of Directors meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Chancellor Center.

The Council Rock School Board will discuss the 2014-2015 budget during a meeting Thursday. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Chancellor Center.

School officials have presented a $214 million draft budget that, if passed as is, would increase taxes by about $40 for the average district resident, according to figures reported by the Newtown Advance. The draft budget includes an approximately one percent tax increase, which falls under the 2.1 percent cap as mandated by state law.

A final budget is expected to be adopted by the school board at its June 5 meeting. Click here to view the full agenda for Thursday's meeting.
