Council Rock Schools Closed Tuesday

As much as nine inches of snow is expected Tuesday.

Council Rock schools are closed due to the forecast for snow.

According to the National Weather Service, five to nine inches of snow is expected to fall today. The temperatures will be in the 20s.

Superintendent Mark Klein said in an email to parents he chose to err on the side of caution and close school for the entire day. "After careful review of the path of the storm and trying to decode the varied forecasts and weather maps, I am deciding to err on the side of safety and close school," the email said.

A winter storm warning is in effect beginning at 10 a.m. Snow is expected to blanket the area in late morning, with the heaviest snowfall expected in the afternoon and evening, the National Weather Service says.
