Council Rock Schools Open on Friday

All Council Rock School District schools—except for Goodnoe Elementary—will have class on Friday, Nov. 2.

Council Rock School District announced that all schools except for Goodnoe Elementary will head back to class on Friday, Nov. 2.

Students will follow a regular schedule, according to a press release sent to parents in the district.

The district acknowledges that not all roads have been cleared and that "roads, particularly in Upper Makefield and Wrightstown, continue to be a concern."

If you know your neighborhood is affected by a road closure, the district suggests finding an alternate method to get your child to and from school tomorrow. Students will not be penalized students for being late if it is due to travel issues.

Information on road closures and bus disruptions can be found at the bottom of this article.

Though schools will be open, no phone service to or from schools will be available tomorrow, the release said. If there is an emergency, the district suggests calling the general line at 215-944-3942 or the transportation line at 215-860-3865. The information will then be delivered to the school for their attention and response.

dear elle ... Don't be silly. And "why not" - because I and she don't want to miss a day of her full public education. She is going tomorrow BTW. We don't need more schools - or charter schools for the haves leaving the have nots to suffer - we need better public schools making the most of every day and working for everyone's full education. And as for tomorrow we need common sense as how many in Wycombe have no bussing tomorrow - so why would they schedule a day when so many will have problems getting there. Let's not be silly

Having the children return to school as soon as possible returns them to their normal environment. I'm glad to have my kids back in school, in familiar surroundings. The news channels have been non-stop on this thing! I want my kids doing what children are meant to do. Be with their friends, learning and growing.

Get them Bums back to work !

the VOICE ... And who pray tell are "them Bums" my dear friend VOICE? Are you referring to the teachers educating our children or are you referring to our children? If you are referring to the teachers I would ask when was the last time you spent time with a teacher to see them work in the classroom or see all they do outside the classroom since you have ALL the answers? I doubt it or you would mNOT reefer to them as "bums". And if you are referring to our children as bums ... I hope and assume from your previous rants and your seeing the many Mitts on Sunday you are like many were talking about those evil "union" teachers as being the bad guys which like so many is completely judgmental and is lumping lots of people due to their occupation or their race or their religion or lack there of or their beliefs into one big lump sum - JUST what America is all not about. If you care I would never call a teacher "a bum" as I would never call a Republican one either. HA. Have fun on Sunday. mossberg - I put family and safety WAY before friends, learning and growing. The schools were really NOT ready to offer solid full equal education and neither were so many roads and homes and that is what was meant by too soon. I am SO glad it all worked out but they should not have chanced it - I know of many families who did not make it in.
