Parents around here pay big bucks for SAT prep classes. The schools can't take all the credit.

The rankings are organized by school, that's why the district is mentioned. This information was obtained through the article cited as well as Pennsylvania Dept. of Education and not through Council Rock.

I didn't see any private schools ranked in the top 40, did I miss something?

I don't consider my kids geniuses, and they did not take any prep courses, but I had one perfect score and two that were WELL above the average for our district. They were not even at the top of their class. I can't imagine the intelligence of those that are lowering the average!
