CR North Swimmer Honored in Harrisburg

Tommie Dillione won the 200-yard freestyle at the 2014 PIAA Swimming and Diving Championship.

Council Rock High School North senior Tommie Dillione received a House citation from state Rep. Steve Santarsiero during a ceremony Monday in the Capitol.

Dillione, Newtown Borough resident, won one of the closest races of the 2014 PIAA Swimming and Diving Championship when she beat Parkland High School’s Siena Salvaggio by 0.04 seconds in the 200-yard freestyle.

A day later, she finished third in the 500-yard freestyle.

“It’s a pleasure to commend the hard work that a student athlete puts into becoming the best of the best. Her accomplishments set a great example for others and bring great credit upon our community," Santarsiero said.

Dillione plans to attend Penn State University.
