Forecasters: First Snow of 2012 Headed Our Way

Forecasters expect one to three inches of snow to fall on the area. The snow will turn to a wintry mix Saturday afternoon.

 

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather warning from 1 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Forecasters expect one to three inches of snow to fall on the area. The snow will turn to a wintry mix Saturday afternoon.

The possibility of overnight snow has prompted Council Rock officials to close all school facilities Saturday until noon.

“Students who are involved in school based activities -- including high school trips for music and athletics -- should consult the school and school district website for updated information on these events,” a notice sent by the district via email Friday said. “As of this writing, all of the school sponsored events scheduled for Saturday will take place. “ 

“Should snow and ice continue to be a problem through the morning, Council Rock may be forced to close facilities for the day,” the email said.
