New Hope-Solebury Third Best High School in PA, Report Says

Central Bucks High School East was the only other Bucks County school that ranked in the top 50 of U.S. News & World Report's annual assessment.

New Hope-Solebury High School has been ranked third in the state in the 2014 U.S. News & World Report rankings. The school was only one of two Bucks County high schools to make the top 50.

The only other schools in Pennsylvania that ranked above New Hope-Solebury were Julia R. Masterman Laboratory and Demonstration School, which was ranked first, and Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy.

New Hope-Solebury was ranked 337 in the nationwide list.

Central Bucks High School East was the only other Bucks County school that ranked in the top 50. It was ranked 28 in Pennsylvania and 1,092 in the nation.

Each year, U.S. News joined forces with the American Institutes for Research to evaluate schools on overall student performance on state-mandated assessments, as well as how effectively schools educated their black, Hispanic and economically disadvantaged students.

Performance on Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate exams is used to determine the degree to which schools prepare students for college-level work. 

Schools were ranked within each state, as well as on a national stage.
