Schools

Toys for Tots, Geography Bees and CR Education Week

At the beginning of each month, Patch will take a look back at Council Rock community happenings and give a sneak peek into what's coming up on the calendar.

It's Council Rock Education Week, which means parents have the opportunity to observe their children within the classroom setting.  Classroom visits and parent workshops are planned throughout the district. Check your schools' e-Friday folder for a schedule.

Council Rock School District is once again collecting items for their annual CR Cares Program.  Click here for a list of items the schools will be collecting for the rest of this week.  On Jan. 16, sixth- and eighth-grade volunteers will assemble care packages for delivery to shelters, soup kitchens and agencies in Bucks County.

The Council Rock Education Foundation (CREF) is running an electronic recycling drive in all schools through March 9. Items being collected include: printer cartridges, cell phones, digital cameras, MP3 players, Kindle and Sony book readers, camcorders, GPS and radar detectors (no cords or cables). Funds raised will support innovative programs that emphasize the importance of recycling.

Council Rock music teachers will be presenting a faculty recital on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. The concert will feature the faculty choir, orchestra and jazz bands.  The suggested donation to attend the concert is $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.  The proceeds from the concert will go towards the annual music teacher scholarships.  Tickets will be available at the door or from any music teacher in the district.
