Seven Council Rock Bus Drivers Recognized

The public recognition came in light of National School Bus Safety Week, which goes through Friday.

The Council Rock School Board on Thursday honored seven school bus drivers who have reached milestones in their service to the district.

The public recognition came in light of National School Bus Safety Week, which is Oct. 22 through Oct. 26. Click here for school bus safety tips.

According to the district, Council Rock transports 11,500 public school students and 1,900 private school students each day over a 72 square mile area. Council Rock school buses travel more than 2.5 million miles each school year.

The following drivers from First Student, the district's transportation contractor, were honored Thursday:

  • Ruth Cotton  (40 years)                        
  • Barbara Calvary (35 years)
  • Jean Staley (30 years)                                    
  • Mary Ellen Sarricino (25 years)
  • Mary Ellen Klein (30 years)                        
  • Cindy Riley (25 years)
  • Julie Miscavage (25 years)
